There are a lot of protests happening all of the country right now
I don't know if it'll change anything, but I'm tired of the electoral voting system.
I feel like we need that to change so whoever wins the popular vote wins the presidency.
It just makes more sense.

As Natealot said, you would certainly have voter fraud. In fact, there were more than 4 million dead people and ineligible "voters" who voted in the last election. You can't necessarily trust what's considered the "popular" vote in America.

But, even apart from voter fraud, the reason why the popular vote doesn't decide the presidency is because--if the popular vote was all that mattered--YOUR vote wouldn't matter. Only the 4 states with the most population would have a say in government--and those 4 states (which would be run entirely by the cities where the most had a voice) would only vote according to their own benefit. There is a political clevage between city and countryside for this very reason. So, pretty much, only the major cities in California, New York, Texas, and Florida would have a voice. Everyone else would be silenced and ridiculed.

Plus, the system we have now also prevents mob mentality. Just because the majority of people agree on something doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

Ooooh, I hadn't considered that.
I just wish that the majority who voted for him
didn't vote for him for the wrong reasons, ya know?

No, because the manipulation of the voting tools used is too easy. Even in this presidential election many ballots kept changing when entered and many machines were labeled as damaged, hacked, or useless. Some people who voted have been dead for years. The problem is we still need the republic, because technology is too untrustworthy.

Oh! I had no idea. I mean I had heard of a few people committing voter fraud,
but I didn't think they'd stoop so low as to use a dead persons identity.

Yeah, it is better to still use the Electoral college, but I just wish it was updated so that if you win a state you do not get all of it. I mean, they have many people a part of each state. Why not divide up the point based on how much of that area you won (Talking counties here). Would be better that way, I believe. Then the votes are given out as they should be based on the fractions, and we have the names of who to blame if something goes wrong.

That does sound like a better system.
It seems more reasonable than how they're doing it now.

Funny, because Britain, China, Russia and the Philippines all congratulated Donald Trump on winning the Presidency and looks foward to working with him.

Of course that russia congratulated, Putin expects that Trump let him "save and conquere" Europe. China? They don't have to care much. Yes, asian market jumped, but as always, it just generated profit. Britain? They get lunetic with their separation policy. And philipines? Don't know.

thats called diplomacy, they arent about to insult the new president of the worlds biggest super power, they want good relations with america especially since trump is only pres for now, to wreck relations with america due to the president they elect would be childish, any nation that did so would be foolish

btw, you do realize who is leading the philippines right now dont you? its hardly a compliment being congratulated by a man who commands death squads against his own citizens

lol
he's telling people to kill them in the street, no court, no police
not to mention the political opposition mayor and governor who were both murdered without a court hearing because they were "involved in drugs"
duterte is killing who ever he wants to, he is a violent psychopath who believes god talks to him, do some research you will see he himself is a murderer and i'm not even exaggerating

If crime and corruption has grown to the level that law no longer exists, a civil war is the only way of law enforcement.

What are you even talking about?!
the philippines is not in a state of civil war, it is not even in a state of martial law
Duterte is truly insane, have you seen the video of him exclaiming that god spoke directly to him, or the one where he admits to murdering more than 10 people personally? or the several videos and audio of him talking about sexual harassment and rape?
He is responsible for thousands of killings of his own citizens who didnt even go to court, so no one knows if they were guilty of innocent by standers or simply he didnt like them
He's a monster and he is unashamed of it.

Trump is normal by comparison to that psychopath
Dont defend duterte

He IS the problem in that country
He IS the corruption
There is no excuse for using murder as a tool, he is simply a horrible shit
The phillipines is not so bad as you seem to think
Here are some statistics

In 2014, there were 10,294 reported cases of rape in the Philippines. But there were more than 30,000 cases in the U.K.; 12,157 in France (which has a roughly similar population to the U.K. at 66 million); and 6,294 in Sweden, for a population of just 9.5 million.

That same year, there were 52,798 reported robbery cases in the Philippines. That’s about as many as there were in Costa Rica (52,126 cases) but Costa Rica, with 4.7 million people, has less than a 20th of the population of the Philippines, so the Philippine rate is much lower. The total is also far fewer than the 171,686 cases reported in Belgium (population 11.2 million).

Neither is firearm ownership high in the Philippines. According to the University of Sydney’s School of Public Health, which researches the number of privately owned firearms worldwide, there are 4.7 guns per 100,000 people in the Philippines, putting it at a lowly 105th place in a list of 179 countries. Finland has 45.3 guns per 100,000 people, Canada has 30, and Australia has 15.

Unsurprisingly, while the Philippines can be a deadly place, it is not especially so. According to World Bank data, the Philippine rate of 9 intentional homicides per 100,000 people in 2013 makes it only slightly more dangerous than Lithuania (7) or Mongolia (7), and puts it on a par with Russia (9). The U.S. figure is 4.

In the five years from 2010 to ’15, PNP figures show that total murders across the nation’s top 15 cities averaged 1,202 a year. But many more people have already died in the first seven weeks of Duterte’s drug war.

This is biased, it's either incorrect or a major twisting of words.
As to the statements that may be correct, I believe that they were made by a young, spoiled, outrageous man who thought he could say what he wanted - he was wrong and he has matured.  He will not lead the country in this manner.
And seriously, stop the screaming and vulgarity?
